DivX is the most common proprietry codec available on the internet. It is a hack of the
Microsoft MPEG4 v2 and v3 codecs. This format can only be played back with the Windows Media Player
or any other DirectShow based player. Hardware MPEG decoders such as the Hollywood Plus, DXR3 and DXR2 are not
able to play DivX neither on the PC nor the TV. The only way to watch the resulting file on a TV is with a Video Card that
supports TV-Out or with a card that is only meant for TV-Out. Playback quality is partially depended on the CPU power.
Minimum requirements for DivX playback are 64MB of RAM and a Pentium II-233Mhz processor.
